Estate Security and Private Patrol in Coto de Caza
Orange County | 45 to 65 minutes from our Chino base | ZIP 92679
Coto de Caza is a guard gated private community in unincorporated south Orange County with about 4,000 homes on roughly 5,000 acres. It began in 1968 as a hunting lodge concept on former Rancho Mission Viejo land, hosted the riding, running, shooting and fencing events of the 1984 Olympic modern pentathlon, and was completed in 2003. Inside the gates are a 36 hole golf and racquet club, equestrian facilities, and Los Ranchos Estates, a separate gated enclave of 75 large custom homes on 355 acres.
More about Coto de Caza
Thomas F. Riley Wilderness Park surrounds the community on three sides. Residents have long described Coto as a place to keep a low profile, and that is exactly the kind of client who benefits from discreet private protection.
Blackout Security Services is owned by an active sworn law enforcement officer and licensed by BSIS as PPO #122466. We provide estate officers at the residence, armed drivers for travel to John Wayne Airport and business meetings, patrol checks for owners who travel, and event security for private gatherings. Our officers work alongside the community gate and patrol staff and the Orange County Sheriff's Department rather than replacing them.

How we cover homes here
Estate programs start with a walkthrough by the owner. From there we set posts, patrol checks, and response plans around how the home is actually used, with the same officers shift after shift. NDAs are available on request. Off duty and retired law enforcement are available for higher profile residences.
Questions from Coto de Caza clients
Coto de Caza already has gates and a security force. What do you add?
Community security handles the gates and common areas. We focus on your property and your family: a dedicated officer at the residence, staff and vendor screening, coverage of barns and outbuildings, and protection when you leave the gates.
Do you cover equestrian properties in Coto de Caza?
Yes. Patrol checks and onsite officers can include barns, tack rooms, arenas and trailer parking, which are often far from the main house and easy to overlook.
Can you provide an armed driver from Coto de Caza?
Yes. We provide licensed armed drivers for airport runs, business travel and evenings out, with routes planned around Antonio Parkway, SR 241 and I 5 traffic.
